The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation has issued an emergency order suspending the cosmetologist license of Kedria R. McMath Grigsby, a cosmetology instructor at Klein Cain High School in Klein who was arrested on April 8, 2024, and charged with three counts of compelling prostitution and trafficking a child.
Under the terms of Grigsby’s bond conditions, she would not be allowed to return to work as a cosmetology instructor or have unsupervised contact with anyone under the age of 17 who is not a member of her immediate family, but the bond conditions did not prohibit her from seeking employment at a cosmetology salon.
To protect the health and safety of the general public, and to prevent Grigsby from working at a salon where she could potentially have access to young persons, TDLR is suspending her cosmetology license effective immediately. Grigsby will not be able to legally provide any cosmetology services or instruction until the emergency order is lifted.
